Director, Advertising and Media Sales

Myxer is currently seeking Directors of Sales for its Los Angeles, CA and NY locations. This position will manage the sales generation activities for those specific regions. The Director of Sales (DOS) will aid Myxer in the sales efforts of online/mobile advertising and media products. The DOS will use his/her experience and expertise to drive sales with new customers as well as increase sales with existing customers. DOS will explore new markets for Myxer. The DOS shall report to the VP Sales and assist in planning, generate new business, grow existing business and execute various lead generation activities. DOS shall also manage sales personnel in an assigned territory and be responsible for quota attainment within the territory.

Strong knowledge, understanding and experience in sales and lead generation are key attributes of a successful candidate. The role and candidate would be focused on the identification and closure of new business, lead generation and other sales functions.

Responsibilities

Specifically, he/she will be accountable for:

To build revenue through advertising sales to high quality targeted customers via web, mobile web, sms, and email advertising inventory.

This energetic professional will have excellent communication, math, and organizational skills, have the ability to prioritize tasks as well as have excellent computer skills.

Specific Duties:

  • Meet and exceed revenue targets – OWN the number
  • Sell Myxer advertising inventory and advertising solutions to major brands and agencies
  • Create and execute strategic sales plans
  • Work with product team to define, document, and productize advertising placements
  • Evangelize the benefits of advertising to potential advertisers
  • Define custom campaigns
  • Generate leads, and respond to inbound advertising inquiries
  • Prepare custom campaign quotes
  • SELLING THE BIG PICTURE
  • Note: The SALES DIRECTOR is an individual contributor in the LA and NYC regions, and will have a specific revenue number.
    • Los Angeles: The LA Director will be responsible for the entire region
    • New York: The NY Director will be responsible for the entire region
  • Attend marketing events, including trade shows, seminars, and user’s groups
  • Forecast, track and report sales performance

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years Sales Experience in Media, Online Advertising, Advertising or Technology
    • Selling web, mobile web, sms, and/or email advertising inventory to ad agencies, retailers, e-retailers and big name brands targeting the 16 – 32 year olds market
  • At least 3 years of working experience within the online, web or mobile advertising space
  • Previous experience with a B2B focus in the retail industry is a plus
  • Ability to communicate and present product and market positioning
  • Understanding of value added solutions selling desired
  • Team player who is self-motivating and can produce without supervision
  • Previous experience working in a small organization or company is a plus
  • Industry knowledge important, but detailed product knowledge less important
  • Knowledge of the internet ad business and processes
  • Good understanding of agency/client/media buyer relationships and operations
  • Knowledge of a disciplined process based on experience of working with digital media buyers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

The right candidate will have several years of above quota performance and be capable of carrying a multi-million dollar quota

Manager/Director, Business Development

Are you a visionary with the ability to identify partnership opportunities and present them in an innovative way? Myxer is looking for a highly energetic individual who is a self-starter and has the proven ability to develop strategic relationships.

The “Business Development Manager/Director” will have expertise and responsibility for driving key strategic initiatives and solving complex problems. These initiatives span driving revenue growth, developing competitive strategies and business models, and managing partnerships. We are looking for a top performer with high interest in mobile content technology.

Responsibilities

  • You will work closely with the VP-Business Development in developing business plans and strategic proposals that lead to alliances, technology licensing/acquisition or product implementation
  • Evaluate opportunities, present recommendations, negotiate and close business deals
  • Manage key partner relationships, assess if they are meeting objectives/success criteria and make & drive recommendations
  • Provide ongoing communication and feedback through weekly update meetings and ongoing informal communications
  • Creativity and resourcefulness in dealing with external companies from start-ups up to multibillion dollar partners and customers
  • Must be both Proactive in seeking new opportunities as well as reactive in managing deal flow from existing contacts
  • Must be able to balance competing priorities and manage several time-sensitive projects/deals at once

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree required
  • 4-10 years business development, sales or product management experience in the internet or technology startup environment. (Mobile and/or Entertainment Content experience is a plus)
  • Experience Identifying partners, analyzing and structuring complex deal structures with a proven track record of deal negotiation and execution
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, launch, measure results and assess ongoing strategies
  • Demonstrated ability to embrace and understand web 2.0 and mobile technologies is a plus
  • Highly entrepreneurial, energetic, creative, open-minded, persistent, highly collaborative
  • Eagerness to learn, positive attitude and self-sufficient work style
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Web Developer

Responsibilities:

  • Working with others to envision, design, and develop a sophisticated web site that will be used by millions of people.
  • Developing web site features and functionality in C# and ASP.Net.
  • Improving web site usability and performance.

Requirements:

  • You need to have a passion for the web and be great at what you do!
  • We are looking for all skill levels, recent grads to senior developers.
  • Experience with web applications built using one of ASP, JSP, PHP, CGI, or similar.

Web User Interface Developer

Our flagship website Myxer.com is growing at an incredible rate due to our unique technology platform and neverending quest to build Something Better and Cool(er). We're really interested in finding people that can help us push the boundaries of what can be done with modern web technologies like disciplined HTML, CSS, Javascript, RSS, and all these other fancy acronyms that seem to go together with Web 2.0 ("tee-em").
