Bio: East Village art-pop innovator Rachael Sage has become one of the busiest touring artists in independent music, performing 150+ dates a year and sharing stages with Ani DiFranco, Sheryl Crow and Liz Phair. As an artist/producer, Sage has released seven albums on her own label, MPress Records, and has also recently launched a charity compilation series called "New Arrivals", now in its second installment. Recently, Sage has received an Independent Music Award for Best Singer-Songwriter; previous awards include Grand Prize in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest and First Prize in the Great American Songwriting Contest. Her new album "The Blistering Sun" was mixed by Grammy® winner Kevin Killen (Kate Bush, Elvis Costello, Tori Amos), and features 15 tracks of what The Village Voice calls "lovely and literate folk-pop-rock."
