Orange County, California’s New-Wave throwbacks, A Kiss Could Be Deadly manage to achieve a sound that many set out to imitate, yet few manage to duplicate. With their use of genuine, 80’s retro synthesizer sounds and bouncy rhythms, the band seem as if they’d have fit comfortably amongst Berlin, New Order, The Human League or other early MTV, electro-era notables… Though they’re significantly more pop-friendly, A.K.C.B.D. are very much along the lines of other great, danceable indie acts such as Bloc Party or VHS or Beta.
