Bio: The Protist is a fusion of art and music. While firmly planted in its Electronic roots, The Protist ventures into new territory with its first release. Hints of music from many different genres all come together to create a unique fusion that combines a multitude of sounds. While listening, one may notice the influence of electronic musicians, such as DJ Krush or *@*örk. And upon further exploration, the subtleties come out, which range from Dub to Orchestral and everything in between. Aside from musical influences, the EP draws inspiration from the city of San Francisco, where it was recorded. Ethereal synths float over gritty beats like the fog that gently envelopes the city, while an array of sonic textures mesh together like the many cultures who reside there.
